About Us

Baseball Pros is devoted to the development of baseball players both on and off the field. We provide services critical to this development, which include our Baseball Camps for players of all ages, Instructional DVDs, and private instruction. The founder and General Partner of Baseball Pros is Andy Barkett. Andy is currently the manager for the Lakeland Flying Tigers, the class A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers organization. He coaching career started in the 2006 season as a hitting instructor for the Atlanta Braves. He then joined the Detroit Tigers and managed their Oneonta club in 2007 to a first place finish in the New York Penn League's Stedler Division. After playing four years at North Carolina State University, he embarked on an eleven-year professional career. During which time, he compiled over 1,000 professional hits, five championships and built a reputation as a team player, a tireless worker and a fiery competitor. He made his major league debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2001 and was fortunate enough to play with the likes of David Ortiz, Miguel Tejada, Miguel Cabrera, Alex Rodriguez, and Todd Helton. He is well respected in the world of baseball in both the college and professional ranks. Andy has a passion for young players and is committed to developing them into big league people as well as big league players.
